This category encompasses occupations in the arts and culture, including those in the performing arts, film and video, broadcasting, journalism, writing, creative design, library science and museology. It also includes occupations in sports and recreation. 

These occupations are related by field to formal post-secondary education, but most have a range of acceptable skills. Professions in this category are also characterized by a creative talent, essential for example for designers or performing artists, and a sporting aptitude for sports professions.

This major group includes professional arts and culture personnel. It contains professionals from libraries, archives, museums and art galleries; writing, translation and related professional communications staff; as well as professionals in the plastic arts and the performing arts.

52 - Technical occupations in arts, culture, sports and recreation

This major group includes technical occupations in arts, culture, sports and recreation. It contains the technical staff of libraries, public archives, museums and art galleries; photographers, graphic design technicians and technical and co-ordinating personnel in film, broadcasting and the performing arts; announcers and other entertainers, not elsewhere classified; artistic designers and artisans; as well as athletes, coaches, referees and related sports and recreation personnel.
