  • Reimbursement of tuition fees for graduates of the École nationale de police du Québec (ENPQ) – commitment to serve at the SPVM for 5 years in return
  • Competitive and advantageous remuneration:
    • Starting salary (2023): $53,980 (including metropolitan bonus)
    • Salary after 12 months (2024): $61,848 (including metropolitan bonus)
    • Maximum salary scale after 6 years. For example: in 2026, with 6 years of seniority, a neighborhood agent will have a salary of $112,082 (including the metropolitan bonus)
    • the maximum time with permanent auxiliary status is 24 months
    • Implementation of a patrol bonus (applicable to police officers assigned to patrolling the territory and responding to calls for service):
      • 1.0% from January 1, 2025
      • 1.0% from January 1, 2026 for a total of 2%
    • guaranteed weekend (1 Saturday and Sunday per 35-day cycle or 2 weekends per 70-day cycle)
  • Work-life balance:
    • Implementation of a new mapping of working hours through the neighborhood stations:
      • 35% of the workforce will be on a 21-14-35 schedule (21 days worked and 14 days off on a 35-day cycle)
      • 25% of the workforce will be on a 19-16-35 schedule (19 days worked and 16 days off over a 35-day cycle) and 3 weekends per 35-day cycle.
      • 33% of the workforce will be on a schedule 1 day out of 2, with a mainly night shift and five mainly day and evening shifts with 7 nights per 70 days.
  • Development of his career prospects:
    • Integration program to the police function composed of theoretical, practical and immersive components lasting approximately 8 weeks.
    • Welcome and integration program for recruits (PAIR): coaching during the first 15 weeks on the job.
    • More than 150 police functions at the SPVM. A police officer, throughout his or her career, will thus be able to carry out numerous police "trades" according to their skills and interests.
    • Possibility of entering the sergeant(e) and sergeant(e)-détective promotion competitions after 5 years at the SPVM.
  • Evolution towards innovative equipment:
    • The SPVM is currently in the process of deploying new bulletproof vests with ergonomic covers and level 3A protection.
