9 - Manufacturing and Utilities
This category includes supervisory, production and labor positions in the processing, manufacturing and utilities sectors.
These occupations are characterized by internal progression and on-the-job training. Generally speaking, workers enter these positions at the entry level and, with experience, progress to more specialized jobs. Provisions in collective agreements relating to seniority may restrict mobility between employers or industries. High-skilled occupations are increasingly technical in nature and post-secondary programs are in place for some of them.
